Connect a number with a group of pictures
Count & Colour 1–10 combines each numeral with its English name and a matching quantity of objects. Every page uses a different subject, repeated exactly as many times as the number indicates. Children can count the pictures, compare their total with the numeral and then colour the group. The activity makes the quantity part of the illustration rather than leaving the number on its own.
Before beginning, ask the child to point to one picture at a time while counting aloud. Encourage a steady pace so that every object is counted once. After reaching the final picture, say the total again and look for the same numeral on the page. Read its English name together if you are also using the activity for language practice.
Colour can provide another way to organise the counting. A child might colour one object, say its number and then move to the next. Alternatively, count everything first and make creative colour choices afterwards. Ask simple questions such as how many pictures are finished or how many still need colour, using the visible group as a shared reference.
The collection contains ten separate printable A4 PDFs, covering one through ten. Select a preview and open the corresponding PDF in a new tab to print or save it. Begin with smaller groups and introduce larger quantities when the child is comfortable. Completed pages can be arranged in order, used alongside real objects or compared with the numeral pages in Numbers 1–10.
