A little time to look, think and play
Welcome to Playtime, the online games corner of Pencil Wonderland. This is a place for children to explore colourful pictures, notice small details and enjoy playful challenges directly on the screen. Choose a game that catches your eye, settle into a comfortable spot and begin. You can play with a mouse on a computer or tap the pictures on a touchscreen, making it easy to share a little discovery time at home or in the classroom.
Our first collection is Find the Differences. Each game presents two versions of the same illustrated scene, with ten small details that have changed. Look from one picture to the other and tap a difference when you notice it. A circle appears in both pictures, while the counter keeps track of your discoveries. There are ten scenes to explore, including a park, a cosy living room, a farm, a beach and a colourful underwater world.
Playtime is designed for an unhurried experience. There is no countdown in these picture games, so children can take another look, talk about an idea and try again without racing a clock. The hint button offers a little direction when a detail is difficult to spot. Start again whenever you would like a fresh round, or choose another scene for a new set of discoveries.
Games can also become a shared activity. Take turns choosing a detail, describe where something is or explain how the pictures differ. Words such as above, below, beside and between can help another player find the area you mean. A parent, carer or teacher can read the instructions aloud and let the child lead the search. Keyboard users can move between details with Tab and check them with Enter or Space.
Memory brings another way to play together. Choose a colourful theme, turn two cards and look for matching pairs. Play alone or with a friend, collect your discoveries beneath the board and watch the scores grow as you find each pair.
