Meet the numbers from one to ten
This collection gives each number from 1 to 10 its own printable colouring page. A large numeral is paired with its English name underneath, making the relationship between the symbol and the written word easy to explore. The open lettering can be coloured as part of the activity, so both the numeral and its name become features of the finished page.
Start with a number the child already recognises. Point to the numeral, say the number aloud and then read the English word below it. You might count the same amount on your fingers or gather a small group of safe everyday objects. This adds a practical counting experience without changing the simple focus of the worksheet itself.
Try arranging a few completed pages in order and asking which number comes before or after another. For a different activity, put three pages on a table and name a number for the child to find. Children who are ready for more writing can copy the English name onto spare paper, while others can concentrate on recognising the numeral and choosing colours.
All ten pages are supplied as individual A4 PDFs, with previews to help you choose. Open a page in a new tab to save or print it. Use one sheet for a short number activity or collect the whole set for a number line. You can also visit Count & Colour for worksheets that add repeated objects, connecting these same numerals with visible groups to count.
