Watch the year unfold in a house garden
The house garden collection brings the four seasons into a setting close to everyday family life. The same house, garden tree and stepping-stone path appear as recognisable landmarks, connecting spring, summer, autumn and winter. Children can colour each scene while looking for changes around these familiar features. A garden provides a useful starting point for conversations about outdoor spaces, plants and activities at home.
Begin at the house and follow the stepping stones through the picture. Where does the path go, and what can be seen beside it? Find the garden tree and compare it with the tree on another seasonal sheet. Invite the child to describe what remains familiar and what looks different, pointing to visible details rather than choosing a season by its name alone.
The illustrations can lead into imaginative planning. What would the child like to do in this garden? Which part would be a good place to sit, explore or play? You can also talk about a garden, courtyard or shared outdoor area they know. The setting does not need to match their home exactly for the activity to inspire a personal connection or story.
All four scenes are available as separate A4 PDFs through the previews above. Open a seasonal page in a new tab to save or print it, and choose colours at a comfortable pace. Finished sheets can form a small display around a house theme or a garden book with one season on each page. Compare the completed pictures and let the child explain their favourite changes.
