Notice the changing seasons in the park
The park collection follows a familiar outdoor setting through spring, summer, autumn and winter. A large tree, wooden bench and winding path help connect the four scenes, giving children landmarks to find each time they visit the picture. Around these features, the seasonal setting changes and offers new details to discuss and colour. Each scene works alone, while the full set invites comparison.
Start by finding the path and following it with a finger. Where does it lead, and what can be seen beside it? Look for the bench and tree, then compare their surroundings in another season. Ask the child which details helped them recognise the same place. This gives the activity a clear observation task before pencils and crayons come out.
The pictures can also prompt a conversation about visiting a local park. What would you wear on a warm day or a cold one? Where might you sit, walk or play? Invite the child to imagine a small outing and describe what they would take. Their own memories and ideas can guide colour choices, even when their finished picture differs from the seasonal examples.
There are four separate A4 PDFs, one for each season, available through the previews and buttons above. Open a file in a new tab to save or print it. Arrange completed pages side by side, pair two contrasting seasons or make a simple park storybook. Returning to the same landmarks helps keep the discussion focused while leaving plenty of space for new observations.
